How a bank card code is checked
A normal promo code works for anyone. A bank card code is different: it is linked to a list of card number ranges that the bank gives the store. The first digits of every card number, called the BIN or issuer number, identify the bank and the card type. Visa moved from 6-digit to 8-digit issuer numbers in April 2022, under the ISO/IEC 7812 standard, so stores may check 6 or 8 digits.
In practice this means:
- You can often apply the code in the cart, but the store only confirms it when you enter or choose the card at payment.
- If the card is from another bank, or is a card type the offer excludes, the discount disappears or the payment step shows an error.
- Some offers need no code at all. Ajman Bank's BRight offer on Careem Food applies when you add the BRight card in the Careem app.
Caps, minimum orders and monthly limits
The headline percentage is rarely the full story. Read four numbers in the terms:
- Minimum order. FAB's noon and Amazon.ae offers need AED 300 or more. FAB's Careem offer needs AED 125.
- Cap. "25% off" with a cap of AED 50 stops growing at a AED 200 basket. Above that, the effective discount falls.
- Usage limit. Usually per month: twice a month for SNB on HungerStation, once a month for FAB on noon. FAB's Amazon.ae terms cap the discount at AED 50 per card per month.
- End date. Many offers run to 31 December. Short campaigns can last only a few days.
Limits can also be tied to the card and the shopping account. FAB's Amazon.ae terms say only the first eligible card used on an account counts, and if one card is used on several accounts, only the first account counts.
Credit, debit and mada: which cards qualify
"Bank X customers" usually means specific cards, not every card the bank issues.
- FAB's Careem, noon and Amazon.ae offers are for FAB Mastercard credit cards, and the bank lists the eligible products by name. FAB's Amazon.ae terms exclude corporate and business cards.
- Al Rajhi's ARBPlus offer on HungerStation is for the Cashback Plus card only.
- Some Saudi offers include mada debit cards at a lower rate. Riyad Bank's Amazon.sa campaign in August 2026 gave 25% (up to SAR 150) on Prime credit cards, 20% (up to SAR 100) on other credit cards and 15% (up to SAR 75) on mada cards, each with its own code.
Before you shop, find the offer on the bank's own site or app and check that your card's product name is listed.
Why Apple Pay and Mada Pay often break the offer
Apple says that when you pay in an app or on the web, neither Apple nor your device sends your actual card number to the merchant. A device account number is sent instead. The store may then not see your bank's card range, so a range-based check can fail.
That is why several bank pages say so directly:
- SNB's HungerStation offer (MC15) is not valid with Apple Pay, Mada Pay or Samsung Pay; enter the card details directly.
- Al Rajhi's ARBPlus offer is not valid via Apple Pay.
- SiFi's Almosafer discount needs the card details typed in manually, not Apple Pay.
The rule is not universal. BSF's HungerStation offer, which ended on 17 March 2026, worked only with digital wallets such as Apple Pay. Always read which payment method the terms ask for.
Combining with other codes, sales and refunds
Expect to choose one discount, not two.
- FAB's Amazon.ae terms say the offer is not valid with any other promo code, and not during special sale events on Amazon.ae as Amazon decides.
- On noon, a promo code cannot be used together with a bank card discount offer. On a large basket, compare the two before you pay.
- Emirates NBD's noon split-in-3 terms say it cannot be combined with any other Emirates NBD promotion.
- Riyad Bank's August 2026 Amazon.sa terms allowed use with other Amazon offers at Amazon's discretion, so the rule depends on the offer.
Refunds: under FAB's Amazon.ae terms, if you cancel or return an order, only the amount you actually paid is refunded, not the discount.

The Riyad Bank row has ended. It is listed only to show how rates differ between credit and mada cards. FAB's Amazon.ae code name points to October, so the code may change monthly even though the offer runs to December.
Bank instalment plans are not discounts
Stores and banks also advertise 0% instalment plans. These spread the price over months. They do not lower it.
- noon UAE offers 0% plans on orders over AED 500 with partner banks; noon Saudi offers plans on orders over SAR 1,000 over 3 or 6 months.
- Emirates NBD lets credit cardholders split noon orders of AED 250 or more into 3 payments at 0% interest and no processing fee. You choose the option at the payment step, and only primary cardholders can use it.
- Jarir's Emirates NBD offer works differently: for one invoice of SAR 1,500 or more paid with an Emirates NBD credit card, you call the bank 48 hours later to convert it to 3, 6 or 12 months. Valid until 8 December 2026.
On noon, a promo code can be used with a 0% bank instalment plan, unlike a bank card discount offer. Check whether the bank charges a fee before you convert.
